The scorching heat has left the people of Moradabad division in distress. It is becoming difficult to leave the house after ten in the morning. There is a glut of patients in the district hospital also. Doctors say that to avoid heat stroke, one should avoid exposure to sunlight between 12 noon to 4 pm.

The havoc of heat is increasing day by day. Due to the scorching heat, even fans and coolers are not able to provide relief. The heat that starts as soon as the sun rises continues till late evening. Due to this the problem of fever and diarrhea is occurring.

On Saturday, people looked distressed due to the strong sun and hot wind. Even after tying clothes on the face, heatstroke was still felt. Every day two thousand to 22 hundred patients are undergoing OPD in the district hospital.

According to Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajendra Kumar, 100 to 120 patients of all types of diseases are being admitted every day. He said that if anyone is suffering from dizziness, fever or vomiting and diarrhea, they should immediately consult a doctor.

Do not go out in the sun between 12 noon to 4 pm. If you have to go out for important work, wear a towel or cap. It is also important to wear cotton full sleeve clothes. If the child’s body constantly feels hot, then definitely check the temperature with a thermometer. Instead of bathing children with lukewarm water, bathe them with fresh water only. You can also do sponging with fresh water and soft cotton cloth once or twice a day. Children above six months can be given buttermilk, curd, cucumber and watermelon. Whenever you feel burning sensation in your eyes, do not rub them. Avoid leaving the house during the afternoon. If you are going out in the sun for important work, then wear sunglasses to protect yourself from the heat of the sun. Wash eyes with cold water three to four times a day. Take care of these precautions

  • If you are going out in the sun, drink water even if you do not feel thirsty.
  • Consume electrolyte powder, salt sugar solution and lemon water
  • If you feel dizzy, immediately sit in the shade and drink water.
  • Be sure to consume cucumber, sattu, khichdi, curd, lassi.
  • Eat within two hours of cooking
  • Cover the head with a scarf and wear full-sleeved cotton clothes
  • Avoid consuming cut fruits
